JULIE VIK began her musical
career performing at house parties and on stage from age nine.
Classically trained in guitar, flute and voice, Vik has compiled
a large catalogue of self-penned tunes ranging from a capella
choral works to funky punk-tinged rave ups. She guided her band Resin from
a three-piece folk trio to a six-piece club phenomenon. Resin's
second CD, Only Here received national
airplay in all markets - college and community radio, as well
as international airplay from South America through Europe down
into Indonesia. Julie has enjoyed working with many of Vancouver's
finest improvisational musicians including Travis Baker, Joel
Lower, Alex Varty, Jesse Zubot, Francois Houle and sound architect
Andreas Kahre. She just released her first solo CD, Twist.

Architect of the Edgewise ElectroLit Centre and the Vancouver
Videopoem Festival, author and media poet HEATHER HALEY pushes
boundaries by creating across genres. Her videopoem, Dying
For the Pleasure, premiered in 2003, as did Sideways,
a collection of poetry on Anvil Press.
Heather curates and hosts Visible Verse at
Pacific Cinémathèque, and her work has appeared
in numerous North American publications. Her poem Europa was
selected by the BC Publishers Association for the Poetry in Transit
program and you may find her online at heatherhaley.com, the
University of Manitoba's e-zine, Treeline and e-poets.net.
Heather is an accomplished performer, singing and writing songs
for the .45s with Randy Rampage of DOA, and HHZ,
(Heather Haley & the Zellots), praised by music critic Craig
Lee as one of Ten Great LA Bands. She has appeared at the Vancouver
Public Library, Kootenay School of Writing, Word on the Street
Festival, Thundering Word Heard, the West Coast Poetry Festival
and on Bravo Art Channel's Book Television.
Heather is a member of the League of Canadian Poets, Vancouver
Alliance for Arts and Culture, ISEA (International Symposium
of Electronic Arts) and the Bowen Island Arts Council. In 2004,
she teamed up with sound designer Roderick Shoolbraid to produce
the audio CD, Surfing Season.
